- In the Reina Sofía Museum the Adecco Foundation and the CEOE Foundation have presented the Alliance #CEOPorLaDiversidad to which Juan Manuel González Serna has joined along with 59 other CEOs.
- The event was attended by Magdalena Valerio Cordero, Minister of Employment, Migration and Social Security, with Antonio Garamendi, president of the CEOE and Joaquín Nieto, director of the International Labor Organization in Spain (OIT).
Madrid, October 17, 2019.- At the Reina Sofía Museum in Madrid the Adecco Foundation has celebrated its 20th Anniversary under the presidency of honor of SSMM the Kings of Spain and the participation of the Minister of Employment, Migration and Social Security, Magdalena Valerio Lamb. Within this framework, the CEO of the CEOE, Antonio Garamendi, Enrique Sánchez, President of the Adecco Foundation, and José Isaías Rodríguez, Patron of the Adecco Foundation, presented the #CEOPorLaDiversidad Alliance and has carried out the signing of the first CEO’s commitment to boost Diversity policies in their companies. Thus, 60 CEOs of large companies with activity in Spain have decided accompany the Adecco Foundation and the CEOE Foundation in this act to publicly formalize your commitment.
This Alliance’s mission is to unite the CEOs of the main companies in Spain around a common and innovative vision of diversity, equity and inclusion (De & I) acting as drivers and ambassadors to help accelerate the development of strategies that contribute to business excellence, the competitiveness of talent in Spain and the reduction of inequality and exclusion in Spanish society.
The 60 CEOs who join to this Alliance “recognize” diversity, equity and inclusion as values fundamentals that enrich companies and strengthen their competitiveness. By on the other hand, they “commit” to promoting diversity strategies in their companies, to involve their Steering Committees and to create a common vision of the diversity.
According to Francisco Mesonero, general director of the Adecco Foundation, “the challenge is to raise diversity as the essence of a new leadership paradigm and inclusive business strategy. If we know how to take advantage of it and manage it properly, we will create more competitive businesses in a global framework such as current”.
For his part, Enrique Sánchez, president of the Adecco Foundation wanted to point out that “companies have a basic role to contribute to the well-being of the people, of all the people of our society. Dignity is for our Foundation a fundamental value on which any business decision. ” Addressing the CEOs present, Enrique Sánchez, has recognized that “being a leader in a great company like yours is complex since you have to make decisions that generate an impact on thousands of people In our country. Antonio Garamendi, president of CEOE, has stated that “the companies aim to not have to talk about diversity and inclusion because they are already part of our DNA. For his part, Joaquín Nieto, director of the Office of the ILO for Spain, has stated that “The launch of the Alliance #CEOPorLaDiversidad is another example of the promising results that are they achieve when we merge efforts so that economic growth is sustained, inclusive and sustainable, as the Development Goals proclaim Sustainable of the 2030 Agenda of the United Nations. ”
